So Thankful for the Gospel

Yesterday Katina had a gang presentation at her school. She learned about the different gangs in the area and the characteristics of each one. It is really sad that Utah has gangs. It made Katina really glad for the gospel. The gospel is what gives families guidance. I don't understand how parents raise their kids without the gospel. It sounds impossible. Right before this presentation, a high school student was shot on his lunch break near a Salt Lake valley high school. He was in a gang and was shot by a rival gang member. Katina is pretty sure that she does not want to go into education. They present us with a lot of information, but no solutions on how to solve the moral problems we face.

Chris found out last night that he received an A in his last class. Good job!!!!

Oh my goodness! I can see why you don't want to go into education. It takes some really good and tough teachers to deal with all that (which you are). Congrats on the A Chris!

Congratulations Chris! High School is a difficult time for all: teacher, parent, and the teenager himself. I find it easier to work the young ones while they are impressionable. They respect you and are eager to please. That is why being a nanny has been so rewarding as well as a Behavioral Therapist. I work with many troubled children but many of them have autism, down syndrome, or other disability. My heart is filled with love for them because I see the light of Christ emanating from them. Katina, I wish you luck in your search for the career that will bring you joy.
